BUFFER ZONES
The Worthley Pond Buffer Zone Program is still being offered. If you have lawns that run down to the water’s edge rather than shrubs and trees that help remove nutrients before they hit the pond, then you might consider this. If you have areas on your property that are eroding that may, also, accelerate runoff, which will pollute our pond, you may want to think about our program as well. The WPA will match your first $150.00 towards creating buffer zones on your property. We can also give you names and addresses of organizations that will guide you and teach you the best ways to create these buffer zones – for free!! We also have brochures that we’d be glad to share with you. You can pick these up any Saturday at the Worthley Pond Store located on the Greenwoods Road in front of John Shea’s Garage.
