Friends of Worthley Pond (FWP) works to protect and preserve the beauty and health of Worthley Pond. We sponsor annual water quality testing and encourage property owners to learn about the LakeSmart program and how it helps reduce harmful rainwater runoff into the lake. Our largest, most important effort is to monitor our pond for invasive plants. How?
- Provide plant identification training opportunities for members who help to survey the pond’s shoreline for invasive plant species
- Actively support Courtesy Boat Inspections during the summer months, where paid staff look for invasive plants on boats entering and/or leaving our pond at both of the pond’s boat launches
Friends of Worthley Pond, Inc. is a non-profit, membership organization that is lead by the Board of Directors, guided by its bylaws, and enhanced by its members.
The committees of the Board ensure that each FWP program and social event is implemented efficiently and effectively, and our volunteers help to lighten the load in many different ways. Join us in making the FWP the best ever!!
